2008 Mother's Day Reclamation Parade

Uniting with similar actions across the country and around the world, Memphis Mothers Acting Up invites you to the 2008 Mother’s Day Reclamation Parade:
  • WHEN: Mothers Day, 3pm
  • WHERE: Mothersville (800 S. Cooper) to Peabody Park
Around the world, mothers and others are uniting into a gigantic, educated, noisy and powerful lobby to reclaim the original purpose of Mothers' Day and mobilize for the wellbeing of all children. Memphis Mothers Acting Up invites you to be part of this exuberant revolution.

I don't think the group has considered it! However Bill and Kimberly Baker put it on last year at Theatreworks with their troupe, Our Own Voice, and I hope they will do the same this year!

One thing MAU in Memphis could definitely work on is the local birth scene- with such poor infant mortality rates, and no midwives in the hospitals, and no birth centers here, Memphis could use some birth work!
